The Workshop Biometric Border Control and Federated Identity Management took place in Darmstadt, Germany on September 11./12., 2008. The event was prepared jointly with CAST, the German Federal Information Security Agency, the expert group BIOSIG inside the Gesellschaft für Informatik and the 3D Face research consortium. The two day event was focused on reports on biometrics and face recognition on the first day and discussed topics on to the European approaches for federated identity management on the second day. 100 participants from 11 European countries registered for the event.

The Workshop Expanding the Dimensions in Biometrics was held on July 20, 2006. The full day event was focused on reports in enhancing and improving the recognition rate of biometric systems in general, detailed aspects such like 3D face recognition technology research including fusion with 2D face recognition technologies, quality requirements and the application of 3D in secure environments.
